• In the Province of Ontario there is no institutional training program available for special interest vehicle evaluators either on-line or at community colleges. It is the mandate of PAVE to ensure that all members meet specific requirements, standards and follow a strict Code of Ethics to provide an enhanced level of protection and integrity for the appraisal consumer.

• PAVE members are knowledgeable appraisers. They bring with them a wealth of information and experiences in the collector vehicle world either from restoration skills, collecting, judging, sales etc. PAVE members enjoy networking with other likeminded members and are given the opportunity to increase their knowhow and expertise with open forums and dialogue.

• Each PAVE member is mandated to be included in the association’s Professional Errors and Omissions and Comprehensive General Liability Insurance policies. These policies each carry a $1,000,000.00 total limit with a $1,000.00 per loss deductible. The annual cost to the members is approximately $275.00

• PAVE’s annual membership fee is $250.00. This includes a page on the PAVE website in the ‘members’ link. PAVE members in good standing are invited to the annual AGM meeting in November of each year as well as the Educational Seminar. Members also have access to a secure data base of member’s own vehicles for information purposes/networking as well as secure webinars for PAVE only members.

• PAVE members from time to time may be required to pay a ‘special assessment’ for any advertising/marketing of PAVE and its members outside of the normal course of business.

• PAVE members must have actual appraisal experience and is this is what is considered the most compelling when applying for membership. Potential members must understand that their work at any time may be subject to and be able to withstand scrutiny by a Court of Law where language, content, methodology and format is imperative.
